When it comes to views, I’ll take ocean over mountainside any day! This is probably why the Cliff House is one of my favorite spots in San Francisco. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s a great day trip destination if you live in the Bay Area and are looking for a dose of nature.
Built in 1863, it has withstood time eloquently (ok it’s burned down three times but has been restored beautifully) and is a landmark in San Fran. My favorite is the Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet where you get to enjoy the sound of a beautiful harp while savoring a delicious brunch. I highly recommend trying the Eggs Benedict if you go. Yum!
I also recommend parking by Ocean Beach so you can breathe in the salty Pacific Ocean air on your walk up to the Cliff House. On your way back, you can take a walk along what used to be the Sutro Baths and stop by the gift shop which is filled with unique decorative pieces and fun coffee table books. The employees are always offering tidbits of historical information so I learn something new about the place every time I’m there.
It can get a bit chilly up there and is very often windy so make sure to bundle up no matter the season. I was very warm with my bright Topshop cardigan that I got on major sale at Nordstrom.
I am loving the color and am obsessed with the sweater in general!! It’s such an unexpected color for winter and brightens my mood every time I wear it. I’m thinking of adding a fun broach or even buttons to change it up a bit.
